Adult Kiara - Characterprofile
The Lion King II: Simba`s Pride, is not only about Simba dealing with his past and letting go of his hatred for Scar, it is also Kiara`s story of coming of age. We follow her life from her presentation as a baby, to cubhood, and finally young adulthood.
As a cub, Kiara is playful, curious and friendly. She brings all these qualities with her into young adulthood. As she grows older, Kiara gains wisdom and grows more mature.
In the final battle between Pridelanders and Outlanders, Kiara threw herself at Zira when she lounged at Simba. The two lionesses tumbled off a cliff, Kiara landing on a ledge, Zira barely able to hold on to the steep rock wall. Not only was Kiara willing and brave enough to risk her own life to save her father, she even offered to help Zira. In my opinion, this tells you a lot about Kiaras character.
As an adult, Kiara is brave, romantic, warm - hearted, playful, kind and caring. She seems to have accepted her fate and responsibilities of becoming Queen.
Adult Kiara vs. Adult Simba
They both have problems and challenges they must face.
Simba ran away from his home, hid in the jungle for years until he (with the help of his friends and his fathers spirit) found the strength and determination to return home and do right by his pride.
Kiara never runs away or hides from the problems she faces in the movie. She is always in the middle of things, forced to deal with the challenges as they arise.
Kiara did not have anyone to help her take control of her life. (Simba had Nala and Rafiki, he was even visited by the ghost of Mufasa.) She stood up for herself and took action and responsibility, not only for her own life, but for the sake of her whole pride. Of course, Rafiki helped her too, but in my opinion, Kovu and Kiara would have fallen in love, with or without Rafikis cheesy "Upendi" stunt.
Simba rescued his pride from the reign of Scar, and helped the lionesses defeat the hyenas.
Kiara reunited the Pridelanders and Outlanders, with the help of Kovu.
Adult Kiara vs. Adult Nala
As a young adult, Kiara plays the same role for Kovu as Nala did for Simba. They both made their mates realize that they had to take responsibility, take action and control of their lives.
When Nala found Simba in the jungle, she made him understand that he had to accept his responsibility for his pride and return home to claim the throne as the rightful king.
Kovu wanted to break out, run away and start a new pride together with Kiara. But she knew that running away would not solve anything. Kiara made Kovu see that they were the key to reunite the two prides.
As cubs, Simba and Nala were chased by Hyenas.
Kiara and Kovu are chased by Crocodiles.
My Favourite Images Of Adult Kiara
I love these two images where Nala and Kiara "hug" eachother. Kiara has so little interaction with Nala in the movie, so it`s great to see this little moment where Nala is wishing her daughter good luck on her first hunt alone. (And is probably remembering her own!)
These two images are also very nice. It`s easy to see that Simba and Kiara love eachother!
Kiara is so cute in this one, she shows a lot of her cubby enthusiasm and joy in this picture.
I know this pic is really random, but I like to see Kiara unsheath her claws. This picture reminds me of Kiara`s dangerous and deadly side: She is a predator, a hunter!
This picture is cool, Kiara shows off her mighty roar (and sparkly white teeth!) Kovu`s face is also really amusing!
Kovu and Kiara share their very first kiss! I adore Kiara`s emberrased look in the second picture!

This is the most beautiful picture of Kovu and Kiara together, I simply adore it.
